Our Responsibilities - Digital health and care data
The overall aim is to promote importance of standards, coding and basic data literacy. The staff participate both at regional/UK level providing expertise in their respective areas. This work is integral to the Information Standards Group which is the regional body for the approval of all information standards.
Regional clinical coding team
Provide a helpdesk (The help desk provides a formal route for submission of queries regarding the Information Standards and Clinical Coding Team. Queries are submitted from Trusts, DoH and regional HSCNI organisations); develop and publish NI Coding Standards; deliver training to coders across the Trusts and also bespoke training for both coders & non-coders; carryout clinical coding audits; work closely with NHS Digital but also Scotland and Wales in the future development of Coding.
Information standards team
Provide a helpdesk (The help desk provides a formal route for submission of queries regarding the Information Standards and Clinical Coding Team. Queries are submitted from Trusts, DoH and regional HSCNI organisations); are responsible for creation and maintenance of reference data; develop and publish System Technical Guidance; maintain and develop the Regional Data Dictionary.
Analytics team
Senior Analysts focus on the General Practitioner Intelligence Platform (GPIP) to produce quality analytics; Multi Disciplinary Team Data Analysts focus on providing a conduit between GP Practices and HSCB GPIP. Work has expanded significantly including the provision of analytics for DHCNI Digital Products such as STOPCOVID, Shielded/CEV patients and support for the Vaccine programme.
